Please, please, please let him come to Edinburgh. Transcendent talent like him comes around once in a generation, it's worth a punt for pretty much anyone in the world.
Realistically though he'll go back to league, he already had an offer to become the highest paid player when he took an offer with no guaranteed money to sign with the 49ers.
So the stuff about the 6 month doping pool is nonsense?

They've done so well, will likely run out of steam but have proved the doubters (& GB selectors wrong). Having players with decent (not electric) pace throughout the team makes a real difference. Hoyland, Fleming, Farndale, Fife, Robertson all wingers with Glenn Bryce & James Johnston no slouches. I've seen Farndale enough to make me think we need to see much more of him for Edinburgh, quick, powerful & evasive.

Scotland one of the few teams playing a more traditional style where the emphasis is on keeping the ball through lots of passes and then using pace when needed. NZ in particular seem to want to play a 15 a side style. Take contact recycle and the do it again. In the last few rounds we have had Kenya and Samoa winning. The Rio 7s should be great fun. Shame we will be in the minority

Bit unlucky there it was a super turnover immediately turned over by the saffas. Defence was in disarray after that.
A lot of outside backs involved today that have been overlooked by the pro teams for a variety of reasons... Farndale, Johnstone, Fife, Robertson, and Fleming!

I haven't watched Scotland play 7s in a while but we are pretty decent today... They look very well coached. Ball in front of the man at pace, on the gainline, all the basic aspects of traditional sevens are being executed superbly.
Having said that we've just scored off a rolling maul!
10-7 Scotland.

Second half we're passing to men at a standstill... not sure why the change in tactics but it's a lot less effective. Still outplaying the saffers though.

At least we now know why Dougie Fife doesn't have a contract. Falls over before contact and pops the ball up to a saffer. Runs in under the posts for another try.
21-10 South Africa.

As well as we are playing the tries in the corner are a potential game loser. The kicks aren't landing. Great try though. 21-15.

Absolutely unbelievable scenes. Two tries at the death have just won us the cup 27-26. Brilliant. A couple of silly errors aside the guys were superb. Blake looks like he could be a serious, serious asset to Glasgow next season. Fife probably done enough to get himself in the shop window for a 15s club or a sevens contract.

In Paris Blake was the standout player for Scotland. Was everywhere and excellent link play all day long. He will be great for Glasgow but where will he play!

Great win. Particularly happy for those who have been in the team for the tough times too. Hopefully we can kick on but equally hope they are not thinking about that right now!

Absolutely delighted for them, a brilliant TEAM performance against the odds. Delighted for Fife, always thought he took a lot of flak.
Hoyland-Bryce-Farndale back three for Edinburgh next year wouldn't be too shabby I reckon.
