Starting XV- Medard; Penaud, Fickou, Guitoune, Huget; Ntamack, Dupont; Slimani, Chat, Poirot, Vaahamina, Itturia, Aldritt, Ollivon, Laurent. Replacements, wait and see! Wales will surely be favourites but my head, and heart, says France by 9 or 10 points.

France by 9 or 10? Big call. France will show up for sure, they're a tournament side (except 6N!). Wales by 2 for me in a cracking match. I just hope we don't have a sending off for either side which spoils the spectacle.

Fail reporting that Penaud and Dupont are sitting out training because of a lower stomach tear and back issues respectivly

Shit. That'd be all she wrote if those two are out.

Wales vs. France is normally very close. The points difference has been single digits for their last few. I genuinely think it could go either way.

Hopefully Dupont and Penaud are fit. As a neutral, I want to see the best players out there.

Wales are on an 18-match winning streak in competitive tests (i.e. disregarding the warm-up matches), including wins over France (twice), the springboks (twice), Australia (twice), England and Ireland. Over the same period, France are 6 from 15 (excluding warm-ups), only defeating Argentina, Scotland, Italy, USA and Tonga. They have not been able to beat any decent sides including Wales, NZ, SA, England, Ireland or even Fiji (FFS).

Wales should walk this. I don't expect a thrashing but they should be comfortably in charge of the game from start to finish.

Even by french followers, I sense something is coming ..

France know the can score points against Wales, they know they can even open a big lead, they can't have any confidence they can last and win over 80 minutes.

Wales are a very bad matchup for France as Wales tend to be very, very disciplined (or at least not get pinged much for the off the feet ruck support work on their ball) and France need those penalties to get into a game typically

France have shown flashes of what France can do when they fall in love with the game - but they haven't really managed to maintain it beyond about 10 minutes.
They've also shown the odd flash of what they can do when they have a lovers' tiff with the game - though, not really done so this RWC (vs Wales in the 6N, they, of course, showed both aspects).

If they can fall in love for more than 30 minutes, and manage to raise to the standard of disinterested; then they ought to win.
I don't see that happening though.

6 times out of 10, Wales win this one without too much trouble
1 time out of 10, Wales win a scrappy affair
1 time out of 10, France win, but no-one's quite sure how
1 time out of 10, France win with disciplined, structured play
1 time out of 10, the French fall in love, and there's no-one in the world who can live with them... it may only last for half an hour, but that's all they need (unless they utterly shit the bed for the other 50).

Peuple keep on judging France without taking in considération the fact their inconsistency is due to lack of time and cohésion compared to other nations.
True France have changed their team three times this WC too..but they have now passed two months together ans this will be their fourth game in the comp.
So I' m not sure they will not manage to keep concentrated...and words are the players have taken the reins in the camp now.
They will want to make a point surely.

I hope so. I won't deny that I'm going to be cheering for you guys at the weekend - not necessarily out of an animus against Wales (although living in the West Country when Wales are successful is not always a fun experience) - but as much because Wales worry me as a potential future opponent.

Besides, it'd be apt to have our final pool game finally played out in the final.
