I think I'd go williams or Laidlaw over Youngs -his tactical kicking and control was excellent, but he still dithered far too much in attack. Other than that, can't fault you.

Who would be in a team of the worst from round 1?

He was good, but he was hardly making hard yards. He only really had to do anything for the third of his three tries and even that was against an Italian defence that'd already been broken open. Your new 12 I think would've been a good shout though.

89 metres made (3rd, top 2 were full backs), defenders beaten 6 (joint 2nd) and 4 clean breaks (joint 1st). Definitely not making hard yards.

But of those 4 clean breaks, how many did he make himself as opposed to just being put through a hole by someone else?

I'm not saying he didn't have a very good game, but in a close call between someone who had a good game vs Ireland away and someone who had a good game against Italy at home, I'm probably going to opt for the former.

Ah yeah of course, got to discount those clever support lines because somebody passed you the ball.

It's not like I said he was terrible. I'm just pointing out that doing well against Italy and finishing off some moves doesn't quite qualify him for a guaranteed spot in the World XV.
