It's going to take quite some play to walk that one back. Though my guess most blokes will have said something at least as bad to their mates, and we just don't find ourselves in the awkward spot of having been recorded and trying to then justify our comments on a global scale. The more worrying thing for Trump though isn't just those comments, but that many people will believe he believes those comments and that they represent an acceptable way for him to behave, indeed they represent how he still behaves.

Also if he's going to go after Bill then he'll have to avoid noting his wife has forgiven him, else it'd look somewhat daft to put a wife's forgiveness to the fore and then attack Hillary as a forgiving wife. Mind he doesn't seem to worry about looking daft.

Most blokes may have said something that women may find offensive at some point, but I would guess it would've been when they are 18, 19, 20 and in some situation where bravado is to the fore, locker room, pub, that sort of thing. While it isn't nice, it's at least understandable as part of the growing up process. Trouble is, acknowledging that will be taken as a defence for Trumpeter.

The difference is that for married 59 year old family men to be saying something like what DT said is beyond pathetic, and absolutely represent that man's character. One isn't going to get any more mature after one has passed the age of 59, at that point one has become the man one is going to be, hence people would be 100% correct in thinking that those comments genuinely reflect the man who wants to be president.
It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Most likely most women have said something which could be taken as very offensive about men (or indeed women)

Though Trump is going to struggle with this, and I doubt most people care if the prat fails to squirm his way out of this one. I also doubt this is the last bit of publicity which will go badly for The Donald.

The president is a spokesperson, not a politician. The decision to appoint Hillary Clinton was made a long time ago, and all of it is a charade, which the mindless public lap up like dogs.

I would never engage in that sort of "banter". It's medieval. Imagine what he says about people that aren't white off camera.

I'm a woman and nothing he says offends me. He said that years ago, and frankly, his saying that has no bearing on how he might perform in the White House. Words vs. Actions. Good grief.. He isn't the "elected one" that penetrated Monica Lewinsky with cigars, or sexually assaulted women in the Oval Office while his wife defended his actions and called those women liars and skanks... Get a grip already. I would bet a good chunk of these women jumping on this ridiculous "What Trump said is offensive to women" bandwagon bought all 3 Fifty Shades of Grey books and read them longingly cover to cover.

My thoughts exactly. Strange how you don't get accused of sexism for saying it though, as I did...

I'm speaking of my own gender's ridiculous hypocritical reaction to something I happen to think is trivial.

Oh it might. I hope Trump rips about Bill Clinton's sexual escapades, and Hillary's reaction towards the women that were phyically abused or manhandled by the elected President Bill Clinton while they were living in the White House. Anything Trump utters out of the hole under his nose pales in comparison to the actual deviant adventures the Clinton's have engaged in.

Essentially, yes. I was quoting a radio show host's analysis of a similar nature at the time.

I'm pretty sure no one here actually watched the analysis video either. Stefan Molyneux is a Canadian radio show host, a little controversial for his ruthlessly direct approach. He was the first person I ever heard accuse Ghandi of racism, for example, but now I see that university professors in Ghana have been calling for the removal of Ghandi's statue for precisely this reason. Remember Ghandi was raised in South Africa and did his military service there, which undoubtedly involved contributing to the oppression of the black majority. Anyway, here's a link to the analysis of the Trump-Clinton debate I referred to:
