This really isn't as bad as the first test, but it's hard not to see us losing the series today. Which is what, 7 days play to lose a series we went into as favourites

I say this isn't as bad but some of Moeen's bowling like his batting has been comedy gold, conceivably he's trying the odd very slow bouncer so dragged down are some deliveries

Its pretty bad. We didnt have any luck yesterday morning but we've been on the back foot throughout these 2 tests. Two or three batsmen are going to have to post sizeable scores to get us out of this hole.

I think we've been way too soft on our batsmen for a long time, and Root has got to score runs or lose the captaincy. But I'm not going to judge them too much on a pitch not fit for cricket, we can't exploit it as much being shorter and slower, but this isn't the first time the Viv Richards ground has let cricket down.

Well, this is rather chastening.

think Sri Lanka being a bit rubbish fooled us. Mind, we did a number on India, so its a tad puzzling why we were so very bad; that said, it has been the lower middle order digging us out of the shyte, and theyve been rank too. Also selection of both Curran and an extra spinner in the first test has been shown up. If Anderson is worn out by this work for the summer, we are in for a long stint in the field v aussies.

He's as bad as Trescothick for having no idea about using his front foot, but adds on poor hands and an inability to line the ball up

Against spin or at the Waca if the Aussies agree not to pitch the ball up he looks a decent option, but for anything else it's hard to see how he can survive at the wicket

Have to say I'm very pleased with Joe Root for his grown-up response to homophobic sledging. It may not seem like much, but the England captain taking a public stance that it's not okay makes a big difference to young LGBT players and also to others who might otherwise have used those insults without thinking they were anything serious.

Great win for Sri Lanka chased down over 300 v SA. Brilliant knock by Perera, nursed the last wicket partnership superbly, great to watch

The 'Quadrangular Series' (T20) has just recently completed in Oman.The hosts, Scotland, Ireland and Netherlands played each other once and Scotland came out series winners on net run-rate over Ire and Net, who all had 4 points from 2 wins.
The organisers should be made aware however that the name of this series is misleading, as in a Quadrangle each point (corner) is only connected to 2 of the other 3 points.The more apt geometrically-themed title would be of course 'Tetrahedral Series' ('Tetra Hed2Hed' perhaps?..)

That game was utterly mad.
Some might have found it fun but when bowlers are no more than boundary fodder the game loses some of its appeal for me.
Push the boundaries out and try and give the bowlers something to work with. i'e a ball that might swing a bit and a pitch that doesnt resemble a billiard table.

Aye, I completely agree. It's a farce nowadays. But that's the cake cricket has made itself and now it must eat it...
