I believe he was pencilled in to enter a race at next years Cheltenham Festival but I’d guess this is now in doubt.

This Henry Pollock « incident » immediately after the final whistle seems to be gathering pace.
I watched the match on French tv and the commentators didn’t seem too interested in the fracas that ensued. Fin Smith reckons that the BB players were targeting Pollock although I can’t recall any specific incident. Seems like it’s being blown out of all proportions.
I hope they’ll just forget it and move on.

Pollock was clearly living rent free in their heads. Even after winning the Champions cup their players and coach are doing his pulse check try celebration from a game they weren't even involved in. Bizarre.

As far as I can make out the incident after the whistle involved Jalibert tackling Dingwall as he put the crossfield kick in, then gave him a dickhead little slap on the head on the ground. Langdon didn't like it and reacted, Pollock went to try and break Langdon and Jalibert up which the BB bench decided to use as an excuse to go get Pollock.

He's just posted on his Insta saying 'Swede recovering' which is good to hear. Hopefully not too serious as far as concussions go.

I mean Pollock invites this stuff. Them taking the piss out of his cocky demeanour after the win is only the same kind of behaviour as he’s been getting plaudits for these last few months.

All of the rhetoric around him seems way overblown to be honest. Hard to tell if there’s really anything in this incident at all.

Bugger all in it for me other than UBB being a bit weird about it. Thought he was pretty anonymous in the game tbh so not sure why they've gone after him instead of celebrating the win on their own abilities

I suppose the difference is that Pollock celebrates his own triumphs whist UBB seem to be weirdly obsessed with a 1 cap 20 year old. As for the tap on the head/hair ruffle… the perpetrator should be banned for three matches and made walk the streets of his oppo’s home town with placard stating he would like rotten food thrown at him.

If Pollock can be anonymous whilst making the most metres by any forward, the most carries by a forward, the joint-second-most tackles and the most turnovers won he is some player.

I've not seen the stats and as plenty of MBM threads have shown, I'm usually wrong on first impressions

Still don't think he's an 8 tho

Agreed - we've seen how much more freed up he is to use his pace out wide when paired with a hard carrying 8 like Augustus. Hopefully Chick can provide that next season.

Think Pollock needs cutting some slack, and he is tremendous for his ...or any...age

He's absolutely destroying the oppo by irritation alone. Genuinely trying to think of a player we've had that gets under so much skin that they're more focused on him than winning the European Cup (or any given match). It's bonkers.

The BBC radio team in the first half spent half the time complaining he was barely involved. That's Dawson and Grayson so plenty of pro Saints bias as well.

I don't have a problem with a player that just gets on with it and does the unglamorous stuff when it needs to be done and the stats suggest he did some of that stuff as well as some of the more eye catching bits second half.

Did not see the game so no subjective view from me. I did see these stats and assumed his contribution would have been appreciated by true rugby fans. He's in a no-win situation. There is a chance that he is good enough to take England's back row up a level. Until events on the pitch prove otherwise I hope criticism will hold back a bit.

The " pollock" célébration has been silly, but probably only lasted 10 seconds out of three days of celebration...

Of mice and mountains...

They've even made a sign about Pollock for their open top bus celebration - the fact someone took the time to sit down and make that is just pathetic. Celebrate your win and get over it.

I really hope we are drawn to play them next year.

Tried goggling 'Poirot incident' but it just showed a portly chap with a curly tache and a Homburg, so must be 'much ado..'
That said some bans can be quite lengthy for this type of thing but no doubt there will be mitigating circumstances that even Pollock isn't aware of.

Journalist Charlie Morgan, Telegraph on X

“ My view of the scuffle at the end FWIW: Jalibert tackles Dingwall as Dingwall cross-kicks. Tangle afterwards as final whistle goes. Langdon confrontation with Jalibert. Pollock tries to break that up. Some of Bordeaux bench, including Poirot, rush Pollock.
“ And I can’t be completely certain, but I 99 per cent sure that the push Pollock gets from Tatafu isn’t what upsets him. What upsets him has already happened, potentially from Poirot”
“ I don’t think what he’s gesturing about is the push that was caught by TV cameras”

That really surprises me...

THis being said if it's done after the complaints of northampton it"s a different context..

I really can't understand all the stuff made about it, those things have happened so many times in rugby.. Merchandising..

Oh yes, seen it, yes it's a pathetic response to a pathetic winding by Pollock during the match..

As some say, if you can't take it..

This all seems to be based on Jalibert accusing Pollock of calling BB a team of mercenaries during the week, which never happened. Lawrence Dallaglio did during a podcast which featured Pollock, but Pollock did not.

Unless the French guys speak English they won't have watched it, even if they do they still might not have done (let's face it, most of us don't like listening to Dayglo at the best of times). They'll probably have been told the young flashy flanker at Saints has been on a podcast where they were calling us mercenaries. The coaches might have even used it to fire the squad up pre game.
