Feel very sorry for Namibia and Canada but was good to see Tonga get a win against the US in a good game. Just not organised or consistent enough to beat the best but still plenty of talent

Uruguay competing well today despite Wales getting the rub of the green. Seen 3 knock ons from red waved on as 'backwards' already...

Uruguay have been quite impressive whenever I have seen them. A level below Georgia, Tonga, Samoa etc. but probably above Canada, Namibia, Russia etc.

That's a fantastic try from Uruguay when you consider it was a pick and go from the forwards against one of the best defences in world rugby. Sheer grit and determination - a man down in the pack as well!

Oh for Scotland to be able to defend like England did there.

It helps that Poite is the ref. He's letting quite a lot go but it's making for an entertaining game.

England are defending brilliantly though. The back 5 of the scrum is just so athletic.

But you play to the ref. Again something we don't do well enough.

I could have sworn that was Garces. These French all look the same to me....

My bad. Poite was running the line and it's early after the night before.

It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

England just put in the best performance of the tournament so far right there. Would be no surprise if they beat the all blacks playing like that.

How fast is that Koroibete tho?

O'Mahony's deliberate attempts to take players out of the game is picked up for once.

Was quite ironic that Ireland won a penalty for playing the man behind the ball then O’Mahony of all people manages to get it reversed for a cheap shot.

England v NZ should be quite a game. England will cause NZ far more problems than this lot.

Despise Owens. Loves the sound of his own voice. Just let them play rugby man.

Well, the irish might take the hump when we call their rugby boring but it's just been cruelly and ruthlessly exposed for what it is... limited and limiting and relying on the opposition to make mistakes.

NZ looked like they were playing a different game.

NZ comfortable favourites I reckon. England have the power to make it difficult for them a knock them off their stride but if NZ get going I think they can get England out wide and England our still a little more predictable.

That NZ game also made me think we need to prioritise speed 1-15. Not at the expense of everything else but to be a really top team I think you need natural athletes all over the place.

Great reply from Wales, real back row poachers try that

They could not turn up in the second half. Annoying for Wales though as France have definitely turned up which they only do once in a blue moon.

France are being a curious mix of sublime and haywire. I am not understanding a lot of the referees calls.

WTF was that France lock thinking? I thought the ref was nitpicking but that's potentially a red. Blatant elbow in the face.

In a 5m attacking maul... in a world cup QF that you're in control of... someone explain the thought process to me?
