I dont often have sympathy for any english team but with the way the table looks if your not in the top 4 you cant possibly seriously take europe seriously and considering Exeter are pretty much eliminated if any english team except SArries get to the quarters it will be surprising

Embra's pack for this game looks better than anything that Scotland can field at the moment as Mata is a class above and Schoeman is better prop than Dell.

Been comfortably in Edinburghs best 2-3 players during the previous 2 seasons, during which a lot of the game plan has been "forwards try and do something failing that give it to Blair". Unsurprisingly teams have caught on to Hodges subtle backline plans.

Was instrumental in their run in europe and has been very solid in all his Scotland appearances including playing in an alien position against the player of the 6N and giving as good as he got in probably the biggest game he has played in during this calendar year.

No one has ever said he was going to force Hogg out. He is a capable back up and when he was flying and Maitland struggling a viable wing option.

Still the youngest back Scotland used this autumn, easy to forget he is much younger that GHorne and 5 months or so younger than Hastings . At 21 years old he's doing pretty well. A kick out on the full in these conditions in his 1st game in 5 weeks is hardly the crime of the century.

Nah - he’s a good player. Boot like a Howitzer - very occasionally goes off wrong but also the best re-start kicker we have. His middle name is Simon, though, which is a bit odd.

Yeah I would have thought he was a good couple of years older than that. Seems to have been around a long time already.

Pretty solid teams out from both sides. Will be very interesting to see if GT reckons Hardie still has a Scotland future- if he can stay fit.

When can we move on from Hodge? Great servant to the club but our attack looks so blunt again. VdWbis sitting very deep, not what he has done when off the bench this season but much more like how Hickey has been playing, it looks like an (ineffective) plan.
