Yeah it wouldn't surprise me if the Lions look average in every game, but manage to get over the line in every one of them. There will be a continual hope from the Kiwi outfits they are there for the taking without any actually managing it.

Not including tests though, obvs.

Their bottom team has lost one game against non kiwi opposition in over a year and is comfortably mid table. Importantly they are also a team.

To be fair it's mainly me who's been in despair rather than kiwis being smug.

The Blues will take an early lead, and be in front much of the first 65 minutes but find some creative way to blow it in the end. Lions by 4.

TAB has got Lions $1.44, Blues $2.70, draw $21.00

I'm not sure how much of that might be driven by loyal Lions fans having a flutter over here but it seems a little over cooked to me.

The Blues really are the definition of amateur, Tuipolotu has been dropped for being late to training. It's no wonder their ill discipline on the field when you see the steaming pile of shit they are off it.

Him missing is a big advantage to the Lions.

Jeez. Fine him, sure, but dropping him really is cutting off the nose to spite the face.

Half an hour ago it was absolutely pissing down. It's now bright sunshine. Fuck knows what will be happening in 5-6 hours time.

Patty T was on the bench anyway, but still it's a poor show. He's not had his best year - those drug allegations had him on the back foot at the start of the year, and he's not completely clicked into his previous form once he did get on the paddock.

On the plus side, we're doing a haka.

IIRC three of the five will be performing a haka. The Blues and Chiefs for sure, and, I think, the Highlanders.

Also agree with Lizard ref. fining Tuipulotu instead of dropping him. Seems massively disproportionate.

Rather depends on how late and how often it's been and the degree to which it's representative of other issues.

Gats, Te'o, Payne and Mako should all do one in reply, like the Munster Kiwis did in '08. That was chain.

Nah, I'm comfortable with that. I'm currently part of the management/coaching of a school team, and I've cut one player for being a dickhead, and another has been stood down for being part of a brawl after a game.

As a Blues fan, I must say "never, ever, EVER underestimate the Blues' ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory."
