Like the Ireland threquarters - but not R. Kearney at 15.
Powerful pack.
Is D.Ryan injured?
Irish bench looks strong in the forwards but less so in the backs.
T.Bowe lucky to have made the squad on recent form/game time.

Decent team. Tommy Bowe must be going rather better in camp than he has for Ulster of late. No complaints.

donnacha ryan didn't train until thursday apparently but i'd prefer if Joe just said we've gone with two younger (hendo and dillane) with one older (toner) rather than vice versa.

personally, i would have zebo at full back (or a fit jared payne) and stander at 8, but that could be my munster bias. i don't really have any complaints about the side.

delighted for scannell and john ryan. nice to be picked when you're in prime form. would love to see jackson continue to excel because sexton being absent is now more usual than not.

Two good sides. Jock FR looks a bit green though (traitors!).

A very close game. Scotland by 3 perhaps?

We got what we deserved, a poor 1st half, not playing Poite as well as the scots and not closing out the victory when we had it in our grasp

Let's not pretend that Poite had any bearing on the result. I wonder what it was that Farrell did at Carton House to turn one of the stingiest defences on the planet into a bunch of gormless gonks that leak 3 tries off the only 3 visits The Jocks made to our 22 in the 1st half.

Devon was way off his best today, but Rory surprised even me with his fecking useless chucking into the line-out. There's a lot of crap talked about him being Lions captain, when I don't think he's even the best hooker in Ireland. He was completely absent as captain today - particularly in the last quarter when we needed a cool head to dictate where the game should be played.

I have no problem losing to a better side, but we were beaten today by a good Scottish side that fed off our weaknesses superbly for 30 minutes but who couldn't live with our scrum and couldn't live with us at all for the 1st 30 minutes of the second half. If we'd been able to rely on line out ball, our maul might have put a cricket score on them.

Positives? The scrum throughout and PJ in the 2nd half. That's about it, really.

First half similar to second half v Aus 2016, and first 20 minutes v Argies 2015 WC: few phases, and then play it to the trams, then score! That we haven't learned from this is very worrying!
