The defensive bomb from the 22 is an odd choice for an exit play.

Almost feel for the wallabies, they'll end up being eaten by 40-odd but it's been a much closer game than that.

J.Savea really looks to be quite an unbalanced runner. Always looks like he's going to topple forward.

Not sure why Cruden didn't just have a go himself. Pivoting and throwing a pass like that on the move is always going to be difficult.

Result below if you're looking for it.

AB's won 37-10.
Was a fairly scrappy effort that was made to look good on paper by a flourish in the final 10-15 minutes. One positive to come out if it is that it may work to keep Cruden in NZ.

None too pretty but they got over the line and we're once again pretty ruthless at the end.

I think this match showed the (understandable) gulf in captaincy skills between Read and McCaw. Read really needed to reign things in early in the second half but didn't/wasn't able to. He was fortune that Haylett-Petty committed an ultimately needless penalty which stopped the game from getting to squeaky bum time.

And speaking of Haylett-Petty's obstruction, honestly, the fact that it's a talking point is fucking stupid. THE GODDAMNED FUCKING CUNTING RULES ARE CLEAR AS FUCKING DAY-FUCKING-LIGHT YOU FUCKING CANEATERS. You CAN NOT change the rules to suit "the occasion" or whatever fucking insipid stupid fucking dumbfuck shitass fucking bullshit excuse you're trying to conjure up, you fucking crybabies. You want to blame someone, blame Dane Haylett-Petty for being a stupid dumbshit chucklefuck, not Owens or Veldman.

Oh, and Cheika's implication that it cost the Wallabies the game? Fuck off. Your useless piece of shit team had something like 60+% possession and a comparable amount of territory for most of the whole game, and you lost by 27 points. A rightly disallowed try didn't cost your team shit; the fact that they're a bunch of suck-ass failure junkies is what cost them.

He has a point. The Coles Foley chase could have been a penalty try and yellow on any other day too.

That's the thing. Both of those decisions could have gone either way. 1-1. Pretty much a wash.

Owens awards the Speight try, crucified by kiwis. Denies the try, whinging Aussie onslaught. He was never going to win no matter his descision.

Kind of an irrelevant note, I suppose, but the Haylett-Petty obstruction was spotted live by the crowd. Immediate yells for a penalty, followed by boos. It wasn't one of those situations where the broadcaster starts showing footage on the big screen and the crowd goes "Hey. Hey, what the... BOO! BOO!". It looked marginal live. Still, it could've been adjudicated either way imo, and that's just rugby. It was a good piece of play.
That aside, more impressive defence from NZ. Australia pressed hard for long periods, but only broke us the once. Best game I've seen Australia play all year, despite the scoreline. I think they're on the improve. They needed to be, mind you.
