I suspect Brown or Hoyland will end up with the 7s.

Bresler has signed for Worcester with immediate effect. Suppose Edinburgh didn't really need 6 locks.

Any idea what this means for him from a SQ POV? He's been called up to the squads but not capped. It would be bizarre to 'un-qualify' him.

He is now non SQ IIRC. you need to be a resident in the country.

Edinburgh have also signed Jordan Lay, Samoan prop to cover for their dwindling propping stocks .

I make that Berghan, Nel, Dickinson, Dell and Marfo all out at present?

Would love to see McCallum make that 3 shirt his own over the next few weeks.

That really is ridiculous though.

Not really. Otherwise it would be worse for "cap tourists" to do 3 yrs and move on immediately.

Edit: I think the reality is that RC hasn't been overly impressed by him and his style of play whilst hard working doesn't suit the Townsend Scotland game plan so the sensible move is to save 6 months wages.

Is that just what happened to Barrow, albeit unknowingly, a few years back? I don't see why he should be Scottish qualified. Isn't he like, not at all Scottish? And kind of shit?

I think that's a little harsh. Edinburgh have gotten 3 pretty solid years out of him. At times it was Bresler as the 1st choice with the only question who his partner would be then of course Toolis and GG have really upped their work.

I'd also say he's had an impact on the game of Toolis. Over the last 2-3 years Toolis has improved his work rate and toughened up and I think that's in small part due to his 2nd row partner

Should be the starting 9 without much aggro. Rhodri Williams is off to the Dragons so will be a straight swap. Although having looked onto that, Bristol have another SQ on their books - Reiss Cullen previously of Watsonians.

Would be nice if Edinburgh would give some injury updates. Especially on the props.

I thought Marfo and Sutherland were short term things. Dicko has been out for almost a year now. And Dell? No idea.

Dell had a minor op a few weeks ago.

Sutherland was in a sling after the 1st weeg game but not expected to be long term. In fact he and Marfo may play v Stade apparently.

But that's forum talk from the Embra board.

That's good news from a Scotland POV. I'd take Bhatti, Marfo and Sutherland ahead of Dell.

Still a big step down from a fit and healthy Dicko though.

I'm not sure I agree with your order given the Toony game plan. Dell is very good in the loose too. Dell did an admirable job in the 2016 AIs, last 6N when used all things considered.

Our LHPs in the AIs weren't really tested in the tight exchanges IMO. This 6N is going to be a significant test for Marfo, Bhatti and a slimmed down Sutherland (he looks lighter to me). Laulala and the Aussie LHPs are decent but the English, Irish and French THPs or scrums are a step up IMO.

Reid is back playing for LI too.

Completely forgot about Reid, good point.

Given Fagerson is now out, the tight 5 selection is one we cannot afford to get wrong.

Nicely done by GG there.

Then a nice break by King Blairhorn. Thought he was offside on the following kick but was a nice score.

It’s good to see Kennedy getting some game time. I like that cat.

Embra need to find another try here. Conditions are ropey as baws mind you.

Feel really sorry for Weir, sounds fucking miserable being sidelined.

Delighted as anyone that Bennett came through that game unscathed. But MoM? WTF?

Kinghorn, Gilchrist, McInnally, Lay & McCallum all far more deserving of that.
