These lads are going to have to get their skates on. Registration at the Met will be opening up for all the A-level failures in a couple of months and if they're not quick to make their minds up all the best courses will be gone.

Olding to Brive. It seems to me that moves to ProD2 or South Africa are those least likely to attract adverse publicity for the clubs and therefore most likely to happen.

The standard in this season's ProD2 was excellent and I'm sure Olding will be tested to the full.
Brive, for whom Jeremy Davidson is now head coach, will be one the favourites to gain promotion and will be vying with the likes of Montauban, Mont de Marsan and Beziers, so it ain't going to be easy.

Obviously Olding's options have been curtailed in the aftermath of his trial, rightly or wrongly. There is no doubt that he is capable of a much higher level than the French second division. He was pretty good in the centre for Ireland on their S.A. tour two seasons ago and looked quite comfortable playing international rugby. He would only have improved, but now his career is down the tubes.

If he keeps his head down and avoids scandal I'd expect him back in Ireland after 3 years or so, but then I never expected his contract to be terminated.
