Plenty of scrums and about 3 lineouts on the treviso 5 metre with Treviso down to 14 then 13. Didnt really look like scoring.

2 good tries to go 14 nil up but then didnt really do anything. Same kindof issues as the last couple of years. Just no real penetration and make mistakes at the wrong time
RC will be fuming. And rightly so.

Didn't see the game so can't comment but there were certainly warning signs around Edinburgh in the first two games - only playing for a short period of time, etc. Having said that I thought there were far more positives than negatives so this comes as a surprise. Although reading some comments - Edinburgh only played rugby for a few minutes and thought it was enough. Doesn't sound that much different from the Dragons/Cardiff games tbh...

Am I reading this right? It was uncontested scrums and Edinburgh were kicking corners despite Treviso having men in the bin?

That is just moronic and the captain must take responsibility. I assume it was Bradbury.

Aye, seems to be the case alright.

In fairness, I'm not sure I would have known the law that requires all 8 in the uncontested scrum. Then again I'm not paid to play rugby union.

Ah well, Embra gonna Embra.

CDP looks fat again.

Will Bennett actually get in the team?

And to make matters worse there were two men in the bin in the closing stages... that's a 2 man overlap from a perfectly presented, uncontested ball from the scrum... If you drew the men and passed the tight 5 could pull off a score from that in the backs...

Moronic.

Nothing to do with the game but uncontested scrums for yellows are a nonsense and I'd be all for amending the law so that if the scrum can't be contested if a front row is yellow carded then the opposition captain can elect to have the prop/hooker remain on the park.

It gives the defence a boost as the back row don't bind, the 9 creeps further away from the scrum than allowed and refs don't maintain the offside line in the backs.

Bradbury is a young captain and will learn. Cochrane, Nel and Weir are experienced heads who should be helping him out.

Im not sure that is that big a call. The flankers will be hanging off the scrum and the 9 will be free. Edinburgh's backs are really not clinical.

He went for the lineout, they started to drive. Didnt get anywhere but sucked in a few and had a massive overlap. Then they butchered it.

The setup wasnt the problem

Aye, can't really blame Bradbury for them murdering an overlap like that.

Night and day when you compare with Glasgow. Every man at the Weeg is expected to play scrum half if the 9 is unavailable or trapped. What do Edinburgh do? Expect someone else to take responsibility, 20 secs later, realise the 9 isn't around and then ship the ball out to charge into an organised defence. Mindless.

They're still in the game mind. Harries ran a great line for that try.

Red card prob right decision but if your stupid enough to lie like that off your feet looking the wrong way head up like some meerkat you probably deserve a knock yo the head.

Edinburgh need to stop running down blind alleys and getting turned over.

Final thought the ref certainly had interesting interpretations on a few occasions.

No shame in losing away to Scarlets - one of the best teams in the league. The Rizzo card made a comeback impossible.

Rizzo was dumb but more than a whiff of the Biggars about Davies reaction.

Big changes tonthe team with the most notable being James Johnstone starting in the centres. Tough to say if he is just freshening it up or has written this week of a bit. I would hope the former

Interesting McKenzie captains ahead of Gilchrist. Is it just me or has Freuan had very little game time? Is he fully fit?

9 and 10 remain the issue.

Who else even is there? Don't edinburgh have a young 10?

Bag got is seemingly next in line but I wouldn't want to throw him in with that team against Lenister. I assume that there are some Scotland requirements here given both of the respective teams selected but coming up against a lenister side with a point to prove this could get ugly.

Frustrating that the lack of tv coverage means I still don't get to see Johnstone play.

Who covers ten? Bureligh and Kinghorns bench number is just misleading?

As you will see from the Weegie thread, I would rather watch them than Edinburgh at the moment - this is not a switch of allegiance by the way, just depression.

That's the spirit.... Edinburgh... Groan... Not worthy.... Groan....Just an honour to be on the same pitch as Leinster who have marked European Rugby history... Hopefuly they won't score 50... Groan...
