Good appointments for the summer there. Wigglesworth getting a good development opportunity with the Lions as well.

Helped by coming on at the same time as Ben Youngs who was obsessed with throwing wide passes at a speed slightly faster than an ice age with Ojomoh leading the blitz.
His ability to play 12 and 13 as well as all round skillset should see him get a squad place. Only issues might be that he'll miss the training squad next week and the XV game which might give others opportunity to impress the coaches.
I don't think lively has ever been an issue
Wtf is this. Is everyone trying to outdo "system players" and "Impact players" for nonsense, consultant-brain-farted terminology now?
He's shown he's more than just a big lump. He's got some pace and link play as well. We've definitely needed an alternative to Lawrence in the midfield and it seems RMW might be able to offer that.fivepointer wrote: ↑Sun May 18, 2025 1:44 pm Alignment camp sounds a nonsense but RMW should certainly be there.
Hopefully him leaking the news won't be taken badly by Secretive Bandicoot - bit unprofessional, although understandable from a young lad.Captainhaircut wrote: ↑Sun May 18, 2025 12:23 pm RMW has confirmed he has been called up to the “alignment camp” that will be come together on Tuesday and Wednesday. Unclear when or if they will announce it.

Ma'asi-White can also slot into 13. Has got pace, he's very raw but been solid when I've seen him. Having him in a training camp where he can be given work ons and a taste of what is needed to step up makes sense.Epaminondas Pules wrote: ↑Mon May 19, 2025 9:30 am I'm not really seeing what the big deal with RMW is. He's showing bits and bobs, but he doesn't look anywhere near international. Maybe A standard to have a look at. Some nice touches, but he's not impacting games consistently. I've not watched a game and come away thinking he's massively stood out. He's done some good things in the game, but that's about it. That said he's in the infancy of his senior level career in terms of top tier club games. I think he's got 16 Prem and Champ Cup games under his belt now, so wouldn;t expect him to be setting the world alight.
At 12 we've got Dingwall and OK Slade according to Staggeringly Bonkers. Then there's Atkinson with four seasons of senior level rugby under his belt and looks the most rounded and game impacting player. And then three sub 20 top level game players in Waghorn, RMW and Woodward. Of those in the more physical centres I'd be looking at Waghorn over RMW.
Waghorn the same, and neither has played 13 in a top tier club game (Prem and Champs Cup). They, plus Woodward have all had their breakthrough season this season. And even then none are really smashing doors down.FKAS wrote: ↑Mon May 19, 2025 10:50 amMa'asi-White can also slot into 13. Has got pace, he's very raw but been solid when I've seen him. Especially when there's no Dingwall, Lawrence, Ojomoh, Butt etc available for this camp. Get some younger centres in and have a look at them.
I'm of a similar mind to you - I really want to like him, cause the idea of having a big, fast, hard-carrying centre is very attractive, and we're conditioned as England fans to be looking at every back with a polynesian name as "Is this a Manu Tuilagi?", but I got into games to watch him and I've not seen the excitement yet. He's okay, but he's not powerful enough to barrel through people, not fast enough to run around them, doesn't have fantastic feet, or a particularly good eye for a gap, or a top passing game. Just seems like a solid, basic bosher without any outstanding attributes to lift him above Prem level to me.Epaminondas Pules wrote: ↑Mon May 19, 2025 9:30 am I'm not really seeing what the big deal with RMW is. It'll be the omission of SAtkinson that'll upset everybody. There's obviously something about him that Scenter Betrayal doesn't like and the game against Bristol where he had an off-day will have wiped out the possibility of him getting in by being too consistently good to ignore.Which Tyler wrote: ↑Mon May 19, 2025 12:34 pm No problem with RMW's inclusion in a large squad that omits any players from Bath, Saints or going on the Lions tour - so probably down to about 9th-12th choice.
This isn't a squad of "who do we pick if we're without Lawrence and Slade?" so much as "Who would we pick if we're without Lawrence, Slade, Dingwall, Freeman, Ojomoh, Daly and Butt, and we need enough players for England and England A (with 3-4 centres in each squad)? Oh, and whilst Marchant's in France, and Kelly's exploring his Irish heritage"
Yeah, this is where I’m at. I feel like the Islander name and what that’s usually synonymous with is doing more of the heavy lifting than his actual performances. A/XV squad, yes. Full squad, not so much.Puja wrote: ↑Mon May 19, 2025 2:59 pmI'm of a similar mind to you - I really want to like him, cause the idea of having a big, fast, hard-carrying centre is very attractive, and we're conditioned as England fans to be looking at every back with a polynesian name as "Is this a Manu Tuilagi?", but I got into games to watch him and I've not seen the excitement yet. I'm really hoping I'm missing it, cause I would very much like what other people seem to be seeing.
