Might find out. He’s probably using it to kick the living shit out of Bairstow!
I was immediately apoplectic at Bairstow for reviewing such a ridiculously plumb lbw, without even consulting his partner. He did it so quickly and confidently that I felt certain he must've got an edge cause any other way that was as out as out could be. To have the next wicket be a clear umpire error just ground salt into the wound.

I get why Roy was annoyed, but I think he'll rightly be in trouble with the match official for his reaction. Surprise, incredulity, annoyance, all fine, but refusing to walk and arguing with the umpires isn't really on, even if he came to his senses quickly.

Just watched the highlights of this. I think Roy himself holds his bat out to the right to indicated the ball pitched outside leg. In which case he can’t blame anyone but himself.

Yeah I thought Roy was equally to blame. Bairstow clearly looks to him before reviewing.

Look how wide we is, nearly off the pitch, how can he really say for certain that it was umpires call or better? That being said, he wasn't that close to hitting it for his wicket and it was a poor call.

Poisement of final is quite well atm..NewZ 46-1 after 12..phantom menace Williamson at the crease so could do with sorting him out sharpish.

Wood shows his loose-cannonery..couple o'wides & loose delivery on intro but looking quick.
NewZ picking up the r/r now & looking well set.
68-1 after 16
102-1 after 22.

Ker-Plunk!..Eng. claw back: finest of edges shown up by ultra-edge system, then stumps clattered...118-3
(Williamson, Nicholls gone).

Tight stuff by Eng.Wood back & crucial lbw decision to get rid of Taylor, first ball of new spell from other end.
141-4.

Neesham/Latham partnership taking off..NewZ need these to stay for a bit - min. 250 required one feels with fast outfield & pitch drying out.
165-4 after 38.
oops..3rd for Plunk as Neesham holes out. 173-5.

And just as they try to start accelerating, they also show why they can't risk going too hard.

Can we peg them below 250?

Clever from impressive Woakes
219-6 after de Grondhomme submits, (another Archer noggin-knock victim)
Woakes gets another but throws a couple of wobblies...
great last over from Sir Jofra.
..241-7 after 50.

Only the Chokey and Trent factors to overcome now.
Eng were chasing in their other 3 finals and failed in all of them. This team expects to win and this more than do-able. :)

28-1, 6th over - danger-man Roy goes after edging to keeper.Eng a bit shakey with NewZ bowling well.
3 back to back maidens..and a dropped catch.
danger of rutting here...

Needed him to stay around a bit longer. I've seen far too many England bating collapses to feel confident just yet

Bad innings that by JR..slowed momentum & lost composure to give wicket away.Good pressure NewZ.
59-2 in 17th.

Lords begins to murmur at last...at least we have a match now.
