Forward effort was pretty good all round, happy with that. Very stilted behind, but nice to see Liam Williams up for it again

Moriarty looked better after Fagerson went off, I thought. Basham lucky to not get a card at the end but is a real force of nature

Should have had a couple of yellows in the first half: that score flatters Scotland. Not sure why Biggar went for the drop goal but generally he had a great game. Fair play, well done Cuthbert chasing down than penalty rebound. Fantastic defence, especially at the end. The forwards were fantastic, set piece excellent. Watkin has claimed the 13 shirt for the moment. Basham was borderline for a yellow but with 2 minutes left, it wouldn't have mattered.

Job done.

Plenty of things to worry about, and I intend to spend the rest of the day worrying about precisely none of them.

Biggar was superb. The one call you could question was the DG, and Wales backed it up. That last line kick, when he stayed on just long enough not to put that pressure on Sheedy... and then absolutely nailed it. If anyone still doubts the man after today, I don't know what to say to you!

Today was the day I finally saw what others have seen in Will Rowlands. Basham still hasn't had a 6/10 game for us. Morgan and Lake didn't look out of place at all. One horrible kick aside, Watkin was rock-solid and work-in-progress or not, I think Tompkins/Watkin could be the future... even if it does sound like flat beer.

Not a day to worry too much about the champagne, either. That was a £6.50 Pinot Grigio that scoured the palate clean very nicely.

Hansen has provided the moment of the tournament so far.

But aside from that moment, Ireland are getting handled.

Loads of mistakes from both sides spoiling the spectacle, but when it goes right they still look easily the best two sides in the championship.

France started incredibly well but they aren’t the perfect side. That soft first Irish try and some of the harum scarum stuff suggests that they can have issues focusing for the full 80. But you need to be be very sharp to exploit that and I don’t think we are sharp enough, although we have a couple of weeks to work on that.
