George Turner has signed for Harlequins. Great news.

Wow. Great fit. I assumed Japan would be the last we saw of him.
I wonder if his Scotland time has passed. Must be 30 odd now?

we missed him badly this season, may be too late now as we look towards the RWC. But currently head and shoulders above the incumbent scottish hookers

Has anyone seen how well Turner’s been playing in Japan? Certainly based in his form before he went to Japan he was our best hooker. He’ll turn 35 during the next RWC which is definitely do-able for a hooker but we need to be bringing on younger players as backup. I’m not a fan of Ashman and we’ll have to see how Richardson goes when he arrives at Edinburgh. Harrison and Hiddleston are both promising though.

Gray dropped for the final is a tough one.BaldiePete wrote: ↑Fri May 23, 2025 1:04 pm Champions Cup Final

That's a shame.
Bath won their final fairly comfortably. Russell tackled well and kicked well (both from hand and at goal), but didn't really do a whole load. Haven't seen much of Bath but they are a slightly funny team to watch.

Bath playing without both Redpath and Lawrence in the centres is like Glasgow playing without both Tuipolotu and Jones. Decent back ups but different level. Bath though have a pack which can dominate collisions, and can win using that. Russell (and Spencer TBF) played to that strength, showing that he is a very flexible, pragmatic and very smart player, unlike the media caricature still being pushed. He gave a masterclass in game management IMHO

Yep. I thought he was very good. No fireworks, just controlled the game, kicked well and still whipped some passes around that completely drew Lyon defence out of position. Of course one duff pass immediately brought up comments about him being a maverick.

yeah, but was it a duff pass or was Muir too slow in getting into position? It was a worked on planned move. Muir is a big fast lump but not a great rugby player
