Outhalf

Fin Smith
Finn Russell
Marcus as the versatile option

Farrell talked a lot of guff about prendergast when he dropped crowley but I don't think his selection could be justified now

I like Fin a lot, and he's been good. But defense aside...Ford is just a better 10. I think it's criminal that he's not gone with the Lions, and this could be his chance.

I think he needs an injury, probably two. Agreed that he's a classy, classy player and it is criminal that he's never gone eith the Lions, but he wasn't in great form before his injury and one cameo against a beaten (and let's face it, pretty average) Welsh side is not going to be enough. Being third choice for your country puts you behind the 8 ball when it comes to Lions selection, especially when you can only play one position.

He's going to end up being the best player never to go on a Lions tour.

Sexton appointed as a coach, so expect Farrell, Biggar and Crowley as the 10s. Tour is cancelled as far as I’m concerned.

You mean prendergast? But not an appointment I'm overly happy with either

Writing in his autobiography, the Ireland legend said Russell's status as "the darling of the media" swayed head coach Warren Gatland's decision to pick the Scot over him during the 2021 Lions tour to South Africa.

In a newspaper interview in October, Sexton described the Bath fly-half as "flashy" and said he would select former England captain Owen Farrell ahead of Russell for the Lions.

Such a little bitch lol

Prendergast should be out of the running after today's display.

Russell
F.Smith
Ford

Maybe some kind of utility slot for Marcus, but there are probably not enough spaces.

I'd back that. I'm concerned it will be Prendergast, Farrell, Crowley though.

Surely not?

I’ve been confident of Fin Smith making the squad, but after yesterday, there’s a possibility he’s put himself in the frame to start.

If there’s any kind of hesitancy around Russell, Smith is surely leading the pack of contenders.

It appears that Sexton’s dislike of Russell stems from the perception that he’s too flashy/too much of a maverick. Smith is nothing like that. The only thing Sexton can hold against him is Saints beating Leinster, which would be bizarre and ridiculous.

Predergast is significantly overrated and Crowley is no more than OK. Would much prefer Ford as the 3rd 10.
