Well hat was idiotic. No need for that and clearly a bit of afters on a player already on the ground

Re: Team for Fiji
What a shame. This was looking like a good contest.
Ref clearly wanted to back out of the red so good work TMO, correct call even if it might make it less of a contest. Seen far too many refs back away from giving reds for these collisions in the last few weeks.

Re: Team for Fiji
I think it’s the fall out from last years six nations, no ref wants to be seen to ruin the game. But if world rugby is serious about protecting players then head shots need to be ruled out of the game.Mikey Brown wrote:What a shame. This was looking like a good contest.

Re: Team for Fiji
So we lead by one point at half time.
A bad opening 20 for us where we couldn’t get any momentum and Fiji started to rattle up the points. The red card seems to have been a genuine turning point with Fijian discipline suddenly vanishing.
We still have 40 to go and anything is possible but I’d hope that we can score quickly after the break against 13 players and open up a bit of a gap.

At least we’re ahead at half time. I guess with so many changes in the side it would take a bit of time to settle down. Some of the Fijian hits are manic - sore bodies tonight.

I thought Cuthbert stuttered early on but seems to be getting things together better. Young not up to speed yet but still time to shine at the breakdown as they hopefully tire.

Hardy is so slow getting the ball out of the scrum and breakdown.

It’s painful. That’s three times (I think) that he’s been caught with the ball out of the ruck.normanski wrote:Hardy is so slow getting the ball out of the scrum and breakdown.

Re: Team for Fiji
Are we trying to help the Fijians out? A two man advantage for seven minutes after the break, a period we lose 3-0. Now we’re trying to throw the ball about without structure
Thankfully Tomos Williams is now on

Another yellow card for Fiji.
Fair play to Nic Berry he isn’t afraid to give a yellow to a team already a man down.

We’re struggling. Too many turnovers and some very dogged (and occasionally brilliant) play by Fiji.Mikey Brown wrote:Jesus. Turned off after the card. What happened?
Ah. Got one back now.
Hopefully we can put this to bed with a two man advantage for the next few minutes.
But we are lacking some composure.
