Re: Trump
Accepting a pardon implies admission of guilt. And therefore a pardoned individual cannot use the fifth amendment if called to testimony on what they are pardoned for.

Voting for him is something but sending him your hard earned must be the definition of stupiditycanta_brian wrote:I wouldn't be too worried about any of these law suits getting as far as the supreme court. They are spurious at best it would appear. Each one that has made it to a court room has been discounted (the PA one where the observers were found to be there and allowed to move a foot closer for instance).
In my opinion this is all about Donny paying off the debts his campaign ran up.
He can't afford to litigate - Get Bill Barr to use public body officials to try and do so.
They won't find anything, but in the meantime Don can keep on sending email out to his base asking them to fund the legal challenges (which are now funded publicly, due to Barr) and keep paying off debts with the money that comes in. They even say on the email that 60% of any donation will go to paying down existing debts.
It's a grift, plain and simple.
The bigger the lie, the more people buy it

Quoted verbatim from a post in the Times comments area. This is your FINAL NOTICE.
So far, you've ignored all our emails asking you to join us in DEFENDING THE ELECTION. You've ignored Team Trump, Eric, Lara, Don, the Vice President AND you've even ignored the President of the United States.
TENS OF THOUSANDS of Patriots have stepped up for the VERY FIRST TIME in the last 48 hours - why haven't you?

This should be a jolly day out.

What the Fark is wrong with these people? No wonder someone as thick as Trump can fleece them of their rent money so easily.

WASHINGTON —
President Donald Trump announced Tuesday on Twitter that he has “terminated” top U.S. cybersecurity official Christopher Krebs.
In a pair of tweets, Trump said that Krebs gave a “highly inaccurate” statement about the security of the 2020 presidential election. Trump, who has not yet conceded to president-elect Joe Biden, alleged that there were “massive improprieties and fraud.”
The Fat Man's pettiness knows no bounds. He has allegedly been attempting to canvas support for a military strike on Iran too. I hope someone has a tight leash.

Tweeting unsubstantiated anecdote/conspiracy/edited videos with no context approximately every 20 minutes now. From "US Army raids voting machine factory in Germany and finds thousands of uncounted ballots" to generic videos of randos opening piles of boxes with "mail ballots" written in sharpie on the side. Ah. Good old sharpie.

There must be some sensible republicans out there, just trying to hide under the desk whilst this plays out. Trump obviously doesn't give a shit about the party; this is all about his next venture. I was wondering earlier if someone might try to pronounce him mentally unfit for office and remove him before the handover.

However, as we have learned from earlier conspiracy ramblings, sharpie means that ballots aren't valid anyway, so they don't matter.morepork wrote:Tweeting unsubstantiated anecdote/conspiracy/edited videos with no context approximately every 20 minutes now. Rudy is the gift that keeps on giving at this stage
Wouldn't you love to be counting a redundant election in wisconsin this week where 1 in 118 people have the virus, with some replublican anti masker looking over your shoulder

Surely the place of counting can set the rules for entry and say no entry without proper use of masks?paddy no 11 wrote:Rudy is the gift that keeps on giving at this stage

But then again, he probably has an assault rifle, too...
America is so fucked up.

I do not see how it is possible that this won't end with assassination attempts. There are incredibly stupid and angry people out there, who have been fed a lifetime of lone-wolf, hero with a gun, meting out justice films, and are now being continually told that their president won in a landslide and it's being stolen by corrupt officials and politicians who are selling Jesus and America down the river, who can access rifles with the greatest of ease.
I don't know they'll be able to get to either Biden or Harris, but I'm surprised every day when there's not another attack on Whitmer and there's a lot of people who are much less protected and might now be deemed "Enemies of America".

Re: Trump
The conspiracies are getting ambitiously grand in scale:
“What we are really dealing with here and uncovering more by the day is the massive influence of communist money through Venezuela, Cuba and likely China in the interference with our elections here in the United States”
"The company counting our vote, with control over our vote, is owned by two Venezuelans who were allies of Chávez, are present allies of Maduro, with a company whose chairman is a close associate and business partner of George Soros, the biggest donor to the Democratic Party, the biggest donor to Antifa and the biggest donor to Black Lives Matter"; Guiliani and Sidney Powell
Interesting take on BLM.

Re: Trump
It's jus another example of Trump accusing his opponents of doing exactly what he's done.
We're well past the point of assuming his accusations are inadvertent admissions

I can't show you my taxes because they're under audit
We can't show you the election result because it's under audit.
In both cases it's best just to carry on as now, and please, be respectful of the flag and don't ask questions during this difficult time.

Those electoral officials don’t have Secret Service protection.

Re: Trump
So, will state governors ignore the popular vote and provide electors who are prepared to vote for Trump? It seems like a massive long shot and, assuming the governors aren’t insane, it’s just not possible to argue that the intentions of the voters are unclear.
It’s about time someone discovered some moral fibre and just told Trump that he lost and should focus on reducing his handicap for the next two months.
