Police in Grand Rapids, Michigan, handcuffed an 11-year-old girl and held her at gunpoint after she walked out of her house during a search for a stabbing suspect.

Honestie Hodges told WOOD-TV she exited the back door of her home to go to the store on Dec. 6 when officers confronted her. Her mom, Whitney Hodges, who witnessed the confrontation, said police ordered Honestie to raise her hands and walk backward. Then officers handcuffed the girl, patted her down and put her in the back of a police car, Hodges said.

“It made me feel scared and it made me feel like I did something wrong,” Honestie told the TV station.

“The whole time they are telling her to come down, I’m telling them, ‘She’s 11 years old. That’s my daughter. Don’t cuff her,’” Hodges said of the officers.

Honestie, who is black, said she sat in the back of the cruiser banging on the windows and screaming to her mom, “Please don’t let them take me.”

Anyone heard of Logan Paul?

Adored by millions on YouTube, Vine and Instagram for his videos and antics.

Roughly translated it means that he acts like a total cunt on camera and somehow makes millions from it.

In one of his recent offerings, he takes some bros and a video camera into a forest in Japan which is a well-known area for suicides. He then finds a lifeless body hanging in a tree and proceeds to film it, make jokes about it and post the video on YouTube.

Then follows the backlash.

Following the backlash came the expected 'heartfelt' apology and promise of not doing anything like it again.

There has been talk of his revenue stream being affected, but give it a few days for things to calm down and I'm sure Mr Paul's bank balance will still be looking healthy.

This kinda thing seems to follow a trend with social media stars. They Tweet/vlog/post etc, offensive/racist/sexist etc crap, get called out for it, post an apology and life goes on.

Back in the real world, people have lost their jobs as a result of ill-judged comments and actions, including comments made on social media. I don't get why things seem to be so different for certain folk on social media??

Monetisation of their videos or streams on platforms like Youtube or Twitch, where views and subscriptions = cash, and additional platforms like Patreon where people who like their content can pay them a small dollar amount per month to support them. High subscription and viewership can also lead to sponsorship, and further opportunities like how the Swedish youtube guy PewDiePie was going to get a job creating content for Disney (presumably despite the fact that his videos consistent of him playing survival horror games like Outlast while screaming "rape" half the time), until he got caught on a Twitch stream casually dropping a certain word that starts with "n" and ends with "igger."

It doesn't seem to matter what these fuckwits say or do. They just offer an apology, throw in a few comments about it was a part of their past which they regret and doesn't reflect their true caring personality and that they love everyone. Rinse and repeat.

Meanwhile in the real world, some people lose their jobs for the same comments and in some cases, face prosecution.

Canadian PM Trudeau draws the wrath of the US right. Organizations will not be able to apply for summer job grants unless they agree to sign a form attesting that neither their core mission nor the job being funded opposes human rights, which in Canada includes reproductive rights like abortion.

Evangelical summer camps are upset that they won't be able to hire camp counsellors and teach the kids women don't have the right to choose. They are free to continue teaching that, they just won't qualify for summer job grants.
