Re: Leicester vs Munster
I think Munsters most effective carrying so far has been the post tackle roll. Utterly unsubtle and unbelievably being let go by the ref.

Just tuned in. I wish I’d seen what you guys are talking about with Tait. Still got a soft spot for him, but that must be like his 10th professional try in a 13 year career.
On a vaguely similar note great to see Daly not following the same path and making the 11 shirt his own.
Tuilagi still got all his limbs attached?

So far Dan Cole is Munster's player of the match. Keep 'er up Dan!

Good to see Cole on top of his ill-discipline

Must be a Munster thing to knock it out of 9’s hands at the ruck, did exact same against Castre in round 1.

Keatley is either world class or England cricket team. I’m fairly certain I haven’t seen him before. Is he always like this?

Too many errors and too many pens. Other than the first ten mins and a ten min period in the second half they’ve been dross.

Yep, at this level its all about minimising your error count and doing the basics to a high level. Dont give up easy possession and make your opponents work. Tigers looked a very ordinary side for most of the game after getting a dream start.

Manu was OK. Not massively influential but made some nice breaks towards the end of the game and made it through the full 80.Mikey Brown wrote:Just tuned in. Re: Leicester vs Munster
I stand by my opinion that the coaching team didn't have a clue why we lost last week. The back row balance was off, Fitzgerald put in his usual lacklustre level of effort and with Cole attempting to break the record for most penalties conceded in a game, we failed to get good possession often enough and just handed Munster the iniative over and over. The only difference between this week and last, is that this week everyone had been shouted at, so some of them put in more work.
We need a proper forwards coach pronto, preferably one that can organise a competent lineout.
On the bright side, 160 minutes for Manu and Toomua, so that'll hopefully get them match fit and firing for next week.

Keatley is 30 years old.Mellsblue wrote:Keatley is either world class or England cricket team. I’m fairly certain I haven’t seen him before. Is he always like this?
He has played for Munster for 6-7 seasons, and for Connacht for 3 seasons before that.
He has 7 Ireland caps.
He's had a couple of poorish years but has come into some form this season.
Where the hell have you been?
I suppose many posters here have no interest in the Pro 14 Celtic league (then are quite surprised when Irish/Welsh/Scottish teams hump their AP English counterparts in European competition

My bigger issue whenever I watch Leicester, which thankfully isn't too often, is their back row just doesn't have good enough players even before pondering the balance.Puja wrote:I stand by my opinion that the coaching team didn't have a clue why we lost last week. The back row balance was off...

agreed as above, and I'd extend that to most of their pack, frankly. Even their better players aren't doing so well.Digby wrote:My bigger issue whenever I watch Leicester, which thankfully isn't too often, is their back row just doesn't have good enough players even before pondering the balance.Puja wrote:I stand by my opinion that the coaching team didn't have a clue why we lost last week. Manu has been cited, basically just for making a normal tackle by the looks. Welsh citing officer...’nuff said. Will be dismissed.

I was going to ask if anyone remembered that tackle - allegedly a no-arms tackle in the 49th minute worthy of a red card!? I don't remember anything like that at all.Timbo wrote:Manu has been cited, basically just for making a normal tackle by the looks. Welsh citing officer...’nuff said. Will be dismissed.
Hopefully it'll be dismissed; Leicester need him to get minutes into his legs.

It was when Cloete broke through, got tap tackled and was stumbling and Manu smashed him and dislodged the ball. From one angle it looked no arms ish, but I think it’s was more force of impact than anything.Puja wrote:I was going to ask if anyone remembered that tackle - allegedly a no-arms tackle in the 49th minute worthy of a red card!? If that’s the one I’ll be annoyed if he is sanctioned. It looks a bit dodgy on initial viewing but the replays show him trying to wrap his arms.Epaminondas Pules wrote:It was when Cloete broke through, got tap tackled and was stumbling and Manu smashed him and dislodged the ball. Re: Leicester vs Munster
The citing announcement I read had the 49th minute mentioned, which is the tackle after someone on the Tigers side kicks ahead and Cloete chases back into his 22 and picks up the ball before being tackles by someone by two players on the Leicester side with Manu the 2nd man in who really completes the tackle. Unless there's something else more obvious in the 49th minute I've ignored, or it's not in the 49th minuteEpaminondas Pules wrote:It was when Cloete broke through, got tap tackled and was stumbling and Manu smashed him and dislodged the ball. Yes you’re right. I assumed it’d be that one, but actually it is this one, which looks ok to meDigby wrote:The citing announcement I read had the 49th minute mentioned, which is the tackle after someone on the Tigers side kicks ahead and Cloete chases back into his 22 and picks up the ball before being tackles by someone by two players on the Leicester side with Manu the 2nd man in who really completes the tackle.
